Steelwork Manager

We are a friendly, family run, traditional building contractor established in 1945. In 1982 we formed a steelwork division and we are looking to fill a senior management role within this division. This is due to the current manager's retirement approaching, after being with the company 35 years. Further details of our steelwork division can be found on our website at www.hhadkinssteel.com. As well as management of the division, the role includes estimating and purchasing functions.

The role includes:

• The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

• Receiving written and verbal enquiries

• Liaise with both potential new and existing clients to understand their requirements

• Identify and secure business opportunities from enquires.

• Liaise with Sub-Contractors and other departments to produce detailed competitive quotes.

• Be able to present tenders accurately and professionally to clients

• Preparation and sending of written tenders and quotations

• Following up of submitted quotations

• Other day to day duties required in the running of our successful steelwork division.

Personal Requirements:

• Experience within the Construction or Structural Steelwork industries.

• Interpreting the technical elements and requirements of Engineers and Architects drawings.

• Previous experience in an Estimating role preferred.

• Good time management and organisational skills.

• Excellent attention to detail

• Excellent financial and numerical skills with sound commercial awareness

• Good communication and negotiating skills are essential

• Must be able to work using their own initiative or as part of a team
