The Student Support Service provides professional advice and guidance for students, prospective students and their supporters and University staff on a wide range of areas, including; student finance, disability matters, academic access and inclusion, physical and mental health and wellbeing, student engagement and peer mentoring. We put our students at the very centre of all we do and you will have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience from working in a dynamic and busy service.

About the role

An opportunity has arisen to join our multidisciplinary team  to deliver a professional reception service and an exceptional level of customer service to students, staff and other enquirers to Student Support. The role-holder will also deliver a range of administrative  duties for a number of different areas in Student Services.

The role can be highly demanding at peak times during the academic year, but provides an excellent and varied foundation in higher education administration.

About you (requirements)

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and flexible individual who would like to begin or continue their administrative career in Higher Education. Experience of a higher education setting would be highly advantageous, but a good level of demonstrable IT skills, an attention to detail and a willingness to learn are of equal importance to this role. You will be a strong team player who is comfortable working within a busy and varied department and will be eager to develop both yourself and the role.

Educated to A-Level standard (or equivalent), the right candidate will have strong customer service skills and will be approachable and friendly to students and colleagues alike. You will have previous work experience to draw upon, ideally within an office environment, and will be able to maintain very high standards of accuracy in your work, even when dealing with large and often complex sets of data and information.
