With a truly global presence Ardagh Group Ltd, is a leading international packaging manufacturer and premier supplier of glass and metal containers to the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, industrial and consumer markets.  At this exciting stage of their development they are currently looking to fill a Sales Manager role for the company’s metal beverage business based at their Chester office.

The successful applicant for this key sales management position will be responsible for managing and developing specified accounts to maximise volume, value and company profit. This customer facing role will combine effective account management, alongside the successful leadership of an external sales team to build successful customer partnerships and deliver profitable business.

Other key responsibilities of the Sales Manager role include:

  • Develop and implement customer account plans to ensure existing business is retained
  • Manage the customer contract process such that renewals and new agreements are completed on time with all the relevant pre-negotiation evaluation completed and approved
  • Ensure short, medium and long term demand forecasts are available on a timely and accurate basis to facilitate business planning
  • Deliver target NPD projects in line with sector plans & customer expectations

Skills Knowledge and Experience:

  • Packaging or allied Industry experience
  • Sales and account management experience
  • People management experience
  • Be able to achieve long term high level partnerships with existing and new customers
  • High level of contract and negotiation skills
  • Experience of achieving and being successful against relevant KPI’s
  • Experience in managing customer satisfaction whilst understanding and balancing operational restrictions and demands
