Finance Officer / Procurement Officer / Accounting / Accountancy

Finance Officer is needed by our client a leading public policy communications organisation. This role is based in their Croydon office. You will be assisting the Financial Controller in monitoring and executing the financial activity of the organisation.

Working alongside an experienced Financial Controller, you will have exposure to all areas of accountancy throughout your time with the company, who will support you during your studies and allow for time off during exams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining the sales ledger, raising sales invoices, resolution of invoicing queries and reconciliation of key customer accounts
• Maintaining the purchase ledge, inputting purchase invoices, resolving payment queries and reconciliation of key supplier accounts
• Reconciliation of nominal ledge accounts including bank accounts, intercompany accounts, credit card accounts, online portal accounts and petty cash
• Overseeing the procurement function, vendor applications and re-tendering for services
• Resolving accounting queries, company filing and general administrative tasks
• Assisting with the review of financial transactions and preparation of quarterly VAT returns
• Assisting with the preparation of management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports for management

Please note that this role does require significant data entry as part of the accurate maintenance of accounting ledgers.

The company are offering scope for advancement within the organisation with potential to be independently preparing management accounts in the longer term.

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum
