RNIB Pears Centre have an opportunity for a number of Social Care workers to join our team in the Childrens Home.
We are a centre for specialist learning with a School and Children's Home based on one site.
Ash Green in Bedworth, near Coventry. CV7 9RA.


Supporting children and young people with sight loss, profound and multiple complex needs at RNIB Pears Centre is as challenging as it is truly rewarding. 

The post involves physically and emotionally demanding work.

The post involves shift work, working 36hrs a week with a mixture of early shifts (starting 0700) and later shifts (ending 2130). It also involves working at weekends on a fixed rota basis.
No night shifts or 'sleep in' duties.
Based in one team, supporting a small group of young people with sight loss, multiple complex needs, including young people with some medical / health care needs and some challenging behaviours.


Ideally you should have the ‘Diploma in Residential Childcare’.

If you don’t have this but are the right candidate for the post, we will help you to achieve the qualification.

An equivalent qualification will be considered.
 

You need great all round communication skills, resilience, patience and enthusiasm and be able to work with vulnerable young people in their home setting.

We are looking for people who work well under pressure in diverse teams.
