An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Manager to join our team based in Glasgow with extensive travel throughout Scotland. Developing and leading a team, you will deliver best in class customer service whilst building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients placing Mears in the best position in respect to any planned future procurement undertakings and outsourcings. Candidates for this position will be responsible for managing contracts guaranteeing service delivery and customer/employee satisfaction achieving optimum targets. The successful General Manager will control all elements of the contracts such as budgeting cost control and profitability. You will ensure the effective and efficient utilisation of all available resources for the designated area including labour, materials, plant, vehicles and other resources.

Candidates for this position will be responsible and accountable for the management delivery of the operational contracts on time and ensure they are within budget. With financial control and ownership of branch accounts, you will engage and full demonstrate ownership and support of all people management alongside managing the business finance and KPI performance and reporting for all Housing Associations as well as the internal KPI. Adhering to Health & Safety, you will act as a focal point of communication and interaction with potential clients representing Mears values at all times alongside providing feedback and assessment of client views.

With previous experience of building, repairs and maintenance and refurbishment type works, you will have the ability of motivating and inspiring a diverse team of building operatives. The successful General Manager will possess exceptional people management and leadership skills which will be used on a daily basis. Candidates for this position will have experience within Social Housing/ Construction environment. A proficient user of IT, you will have experience of job management and financial packages with the ability to achieve set goals and targets. Candidates for this position will be able to demonstrate a strong control environment incorporating business governance, risk management processes (registers and BCP) and adhere to delegated authorities (SODA).
