A choice of 06:00 - 16:00 or 09:00 - 19:00
The Candidate
* CPC would be desirable
* Working knowledge of driver hours regulations
* Good geographical knowledge of the UK
* Previous experience within a Transport / logistics organisation
* Experience of managing conflicting priorities in a fast moving environment
* Ability to take a creative approach to problem solving.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
* Financial Understanding
* Excellent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
* Ability to work under pressure and react quickly to customer requirements
* Effective Customer Service Skills
The Role
You will be working as part of a team of 3 managing 16 lorries and drivers delivering and collecting in an area of the North West from Trafford Park to the Liverpool Docks. The deliveries are principally pallet network (Palletline) deliveries and are normally from 1 to 4 pallets in size; the collections are mostly from regular customers.
Each lorry/driver can do between 10 and 20 drops each day. The job is to assist and manage the drivers to achieve this. Resolving and anticipating any problems.
An important part of the job is fairly constant communication with the Palletline members/depots that have given the pallets to deliver; generally by messaging (on the Palletline system) but also by phone.
Plus of course talking to the delivery and collection points and the drivers as and when required.
NOTE: Pallet Network experience would be very beneficial but is not essential
