Management Trainee x2 (Graduate) MEAR53943

London / South East / National

£23,000

2 year FTC - to commence January 2018

Here at Mears Group our vision is to make a positive difference to the communities we serve.

We do this by improving homes, improving communities and improving lives and our approach is based on the development of outstanding partnerships with employees, clients, tenants, customers, their families and the wider community.

With staff of all ages and walks of life, a job with Mears has a rewarding impact on the lives of others and your own life. With offices across the UK, a job at Mears could be just around the corner.

Excellent opportunities have now arisen for two Management Trainees to join us on a 2-year fixed term contract basis.  These roles will involve placements that could be anywhere in the UK but it would be more practical for the successful candidate to live/be based in London or the South East due to concentration of the contracts.

Within the role, the Management Trainee will train for a management career within the structure of Mears Group PLC, and will do so by way of varied work placements throughout the organisation and focused development activity. At the end of the fixed term, you should be suitably prepared to apply for a position within the management structure.

This 2-year scheme provides insight right across the core of the organisation, giving you a solid foundation upon which to build your future management career with Mears. There will be guided and structured on-the-job learning, cross-functional exposure, and the opportunity to work on projects with teams spread across the country. You’ll have a say in the placements we provide for you across the 2 years, knowing you will be making an active contribution to the ongoing success of our organisation.

In a nut shell, we are looking for people who are very driven, keen to make their mark in a large organisation, open minded to where their career will go and willing to get stuck in and work hard.

Behavioural competencies are more important than any other type of criteria. Other than basic English or Maths, no other qualifications are essential as we believe that enthusiasm and leadership potential are more important than academic achievement.  Graduates will, however, also be considered equally with non-graduates.

It is important that the successful candidate has had some work experience in order to be able to demonstrate commercial ability and work ethic.

As this role will involve extensive travel for business and overnight stays away from home (as required), a full UK driving licence is essential.

Applicants who are successful at the first stage will be invited to an assessment centre on Thursday 26th October at Warwick University.

Once you join the family, you'll have online access to a range of voluntary and flexible benefits, including...

  • Training and development
  • Mears Advantage - Allowing you to save money on everything from weekly groceries, to your annual family holiday
  • Mears Assist - A confidential hotline open to all colleagues, providing support on a wide range of personal and work-related issues.
  • Long service and additional holiday leave - Colleagues who stay for a period of time at Mears are rewarded for their service.
  • Share Save as you Earn scheme - Buy shares within the business for three years, at a reduced price. Share in our success!
  • Seeing first-hand the impact you have on the lives of the people you support
