Calder Industrial Materials is a highly reputable manufacturing company with headquarters based in Chester, with significant experience delivering high quality, tailored solutions for a wide range of customers worldwide. Calder is one of the UK’s leading building materials suppliers, delivering lead sheet and a wide range of ancillary products to builders’ merchants nationwide. In addition, Calder are also the UK’s leading specialist in lead engineering. The company designs, manufactures and installs radiation shielding and other products in the nuclear, medical and other markets.
So, what will the role of Stores and Despatch Person entail?
As the Stores and Despatch Person, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Stores and Despatch Supervisor with controlling stock in and out of the companies two factories, including but not limited to;
- Receiving and booking shipments and goods received, and completing subsequent documentation / actions
- Producing shipping documentation to ensure goods are transferred to couriers in accordance with laws and regulations
- Maintaining adequate and appropriate stock levels of all site consumables and packing materials
- Receiving, locating and issuing goods to the production area on request
- Preparing and planning goods out, ensuring goods are packed securely ready for despatch
- Participating in weekly, monthly and annual stocktakes
- Ensuring the security of all materials on site and controlling access to the stores area as necessary
What will I need to be considered for this Stores and Despatch Person vacancy?
- Proven experience working with stock management systems and databases
- A valid Counterbalance and Reach FLT licence
- Excellent organisational skills with ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast moving environment
- IT literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Superb communication skills with ability to build effective internal / external working relationships
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually, using own initiative
- A high level of attention to detail
- Flexibility to work between Stores and Despatch as and when required
What will I receive in return?
Salary: £16,960 to £18,844 per annum, rising to £18,925 to £21,028 after probationary period

Working Hours: 36 to 40 hours per week, specific working hours will be discussed at interview stage
