Events Manager is needed for our client, specialists in building technology communications based in Shrewsbury. They organise a number of events on behalf of their clients and industry partners.

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for supporting the development and execution of the company's events. The role will cover the day to day activities of the events department and provide invaluable support to the team.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the company's events team
• Assisting / managing the set up and organisation of events
• Attendance at events when required
• Conference speaker recruitment
• Assisting / managing the planning and implementation of event marketing strategies/campaigns
• Liaising with event exhibitors, speakers and awards judges
• Event PowerPoint presentation creation
• Booking and management of awards entertainment
• Amending and updating the event websites with fresh copy and information
• Recruiting and liaising with relevant Industry Partners
• Creating and distributing event information packs and delegate joining instructions
• Updating the company CRM system and relevant databases

Requirements:

Essential:

• Driving license and access to a car is essential due to location - unless you live local to the office
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must have an interest in the events sector and event management
• Proficient user of all Microsoft applications, particularly excel
• Excellent organisational / time management skills and avid multi-tasker
• Confident telephone manner
• Willingness to learn and a proactive approach

Desirable:

• Previous work experience in an events role
• An interest or knowledge of the construction sector or building technologies is an advantage but not essential
