They will be field based so travelling around meeting customers and so will be travelling/working from home. We do have an office in Nuneaton that they could call into from time to time

We are seeking an experienced Field Support Engineer for the UK, based in wider Guilford and Basingstoke area. This position assumes a key role by being the front line assisting our customers at every stage including, most importantly, training and support as well as start-up and commissioning of equipment, monitoring performance and diagnosing system problems both remotely and on site. The role will be field based.
The role may involve working on Network Rail infrastructure during re-signalling schemes to install and commission automated power systems operating at 400V and 650V. The desired person must be willing to travel, be able to work under pressure and have a strong work ethic. Due to the nature of railway anti-social hours i.e. occasional night time working will be expected as and when required.
The role will also be required to cover the installation, commissioning and repair of Power HV monitoring equipment in line with business needs in the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for meeting daily customer support needs and driving customer satisfaction.
Customer Training and follow up including on-site visits.
Preparation of field reports and documentation on a timely basis.
Installation and commissioning of Signet projects
Orders and return parts, managing repair cycle time.
Review logs for open issues and prepare formal reports to customers as necessary.
Assesses product/equipment performance based on field data; recommend modifications or improvements.
Seeks to provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required.
May participate in site surveys and site meetings.
Maintains clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written.
Travel within the UK, overtime and work hours other than Monday-Friday may be required.
Comply with and ensure compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.
Other duties as required.
Summary: This individual must be able to demonstrate strong electronic and electrical knowledge and maintain high technical level of product knowledge. They must be team oriented and flexible, and actively seek to share information and assist his or her peers.

REQUIRED CRITERIA:
Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related HNC/HND
Minimum of 2 years previous experience in providing engineering field services/training or prior experience within an electrical utility or rail industry, electrical and mechanical systems including low voltage switchgear.
Must possess a strong safety mind-set to assure the work completed reflects the technical requirements within industry safety standards
Must have strong customer service skills and have the ability to interact confidently with customers and be able to provide training on equipment and products.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. A background in training would be of use.
Good computer skills including Microsoft Outlook / Excel / Word
Clean driving license
Willingness to start early and finish late as required.
Occasional stays away from home.

DESIRED CRITERIA:
Technical skills and knowledge of LV switchgear and automated power systems
2-3 years’ experience of working on power systems below 1000V
BS7671 17TH Edition certification
Network Rail PTS certified
Good project management skills and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
Good interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to program devices via supplied instructions, cables and software
