A new job opportunity for an experienced Software Development Manager to join a hugely successful and growing specialist development house in central Bath on a permanent basis. The company is continuing to grow its market share and is therefore adding to their UK based development team to support the demand from clients and the development of new products. The position offers excellent scope for progression and to become a key member of a talented team.
Your new role
As Development Manager you'll be working as part of a small but growing team of Front End, Node and Java Developers on the company's core products. You'll take ownership for the development team, driving best practice across the software and testing work. As well as looking to continuously improve and add to the existing applications the business is keen to explore additional products to bring to market. You will liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders and undertake development of multiple products through the full software lifecycle. You'll be a natural problem solver, and be encouraged to share ideas, think innovatively, working with your colleagues in a collaborative environment designing cutting edge features in existing and new applications. You'll keep a keen eye on specifications and compliance requirements. You'll also be focused on delivery of a customer focused approach to give the best user experience in a hugely competitive market.
What you'll need to succeed
You are a skilled and passionate Development Manager and will have hands on commercial experience of managing a development team as well as in depth software development knowledge. You'll have prior experience of working on multiple high performing and scaleable web applications, in an Agile environment. You will have excellent understanding and practical experience of development best practice and key software engineering principles. You are technically very capable, really focused on quality coding and always striving to work to your best ability and taking great pride in your work. Your communications and interpersonal skills are excellent, and you have a positive and enthusiastic approach. You are always interested in how development can be done better, learning new skills and in new technology, keeping yourself up to date with advances, new languages and concepts
