Alvin Morris is part of the Mercado Group, the country’s leading distributor of Floor covering in the UK, our customers being Independent Retailers and Contractors located throughout the country. An opportunity as arisen at our Liverpool based business.
We are now looking to recruit an individual who is keen to grow with this business and assist in realising its full potential.
There will be an extensive Training and Development program, for the right candidate, to progress to a level whereby they are able to take full responsibility for the running of the depot.
The position will be to assist the Depot Manager with overseeing all aspects of the Operation within the Depot, including –
* The development of the Trade Counter Sales
* Trade Counter & Warehouse Operations (Mon-Fri )
* Stock Management , security & customer service
* Management and control of 5 HGV Drivers and vehicles
* Health & Safety at the site and staff welfare
* Loading and unloading a variety of flooring materials
* Serving customers over the trade counter
* Processing incoming customers’ orders via telephone , fax & email
* Picking and processing orders within the warehouse
The ideal candidate will
* Have a current driving licence & ideally a forklift license
* Be computer literate in word, excel etc
* A positive “can do” attitude to customer service
The knowledge of the floor covering trade is not absolutely essential but would be a considerable advantage.
