Software Developer - ASP.Net C#

An experienced developer is required by one of the UK's leading vocational training providers to help implement a range of software solutions, primarily using the Microsoft development stack. The successful applicant will join a small but growing IT function that is delivering a range of new technologies to support both learners and internal functions.

Ideally the role would suit a candidate who enjoys software development in a small, dynamic and business user focused environment. You should be self-motivated and passionate about delivering high quality software. You will need to be disciplined about developing maintainable code but also pragmatic and creative in solutions delivery.

Job Requirements

The role requires a Microsoft oriented developer with at least 2 years' industry experience to design, implement and support new software to meet the changing needs of their business. Ideally you should have broad full stack experiences in back end, database and www front end development. You should be a good communicator, both with technical peers and business users.

You will be used to working closely with other software developers, business analysts, project managers and business users to define, develop and test software solutions. In addition to software development you should be able to demonstrate solid but pragmatic skills in testing, documentation and methods, preferably Agile.
Mandatory Experience:

You will need to have a thorough understanding of:
- C#, ASP.NET and Web forms
- Object orientated design and unit testing
- Working knowledge of SQL Server, XML, HTML & ADO.NET/Entity Framework
- Agile methodologies

Desirable Experience
Additional experience in any of the following will be a real advantage: -
- Understanding and experience of JavaScript and JS frameworks
- Any administration experience of SQL Server and MS Dynamics CRM
- Understanding of web technologies including WCF, Soap and Rest web services
- Good understanding of security including authorization/authentication protocols
- Exposure to iOS development using Xamarin framework or Swift
- Azure or other public/private cloud technologies
- MS Dynamics CRM and/or Salesforce customisations
