You will play the lead role in delivering trust and statutory fundraising support and advice, editing and writing applications on behalf of units and delivering fundraising workshops to volunteers at area level. Working with six Area Business Managers and will work with them to source and apply for national and local funds from a range of Trusts, Foundations, Statutory organisations, Livery Companies and local organisations like Rotary Clubs. The charityThe charity offers young people across the UK amazing opportunities for personal development - by learning new skills and working in teams - they offer an environment where young people find new confidence and inspiration.The RoleTo provide trust and statutory fundraising support and advice to empower and add value to the charitys units so that they can fundraise more effectively for themselves. The role is based at Head Office in London and you will work closely with the charitys six Area Business Managers who are based at six regional area offices across the UK.The role will see you researching funding opportunities; developing relationships with funders and Area Offices; proof reading, editing and writing applications on behalf of units; and improving volunteers fundraising techniques by delivering four regional workshops a year. Occasional travel across the UK will be required as part of this role.Main TasksSupporting the 400 units through the 6 Area Managers. This may include writing applications on their behalf; assisting them with applications they have already written; sourcing donors they could approach; notifying them of local pots of money they can apply for.Build relationships with all six Area Business Managers (ABMs, who are the main contact between Head Office and the 400 units. This will involve visiting area offices on occasion.Record details of applications made/support given, funding pledged and forecast income.Help deliver four regional fundraising workshops per year, which will be attended by unit volunteers, to offer deeper advice on fundraising techniques that will assist them in writing applications to Trusts and Foundations. Explore new and innovative ways of getting advice to units in support of their regional and local fundraising. The CandidateThis role will suit a trust fundraiser who is looking for more than just churning out applications. It offers the opportunity to be creative and thus suit someone who is confident in liaising with stakeholders right across the organisation, and deliver quarterly fundraising workshops.You will need to be pro-active and self-motivated as you will take ownership of the role. You will need to be confident and happy to pick up the phone and speak with stakeholders (mainly the 6 Area Managers) in order to support the individual units.You will have a minimum of 2 years trust fundraising experience including researching donors; writing applications and reports; managing donor relationships; applying for a range of items including equipment, salaries, projects and programmes.You will be confident in your fundraising ability and be able to deliver quarterly fundraising workshops to large groups of volunteers.
