My client has been running his successful chartered accountancy practice for some twenty years and wishes to appoint a full-time bookkeeper and administrative assistant on flexible hours to join his team.

You must have bookkeeping experience and be fully competent in the use of MS Word and Excel. This means being familiar with all sales and purchase ledgers routines, and other accounting processes including VAT and payroll. A willingness to either learn or develop skills in the firm's Sage 50 software is also needed - for which training will be provided if that is required.

Numeracy, attention to detail and accuracy are of course very important, but equally so is your ability to deliver an enthusiastic and positive service to the firm's wide range of clients, which calls for maturity, confidence and professionalism - and an independent and collaborative working style.
