Contracts Manager

Fixed term (up to 12 months) Full time-35 hours a week The Prince's Trust is a youth charity that helps change young lives. We give practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills, such as confidence and motivation. We work with 11 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. We have helped more than 825,000 young people since 1976 and support 100 more each working day. More than three in four young people we helped last year moved into work, education or training. We are looking for a bright, numerate individual with strong managerial and interpersonal skills to join the South of England/Wales Contract Management team. The Prince's Trust Contracts Manager will manage a Contracts Executive to deliver The Trust's strategic goals by: Managing relationships associated with each contract Managing relationships with fundraisers and funders Ensuring Prince's Trust delivery staff and partners understand reporting requirements and timescales for claims and invoices to be submitted Liaising with delivery teams and partners to ensure compliance with all funding agreements Ensuring claim compliance, approving payments and transfers for all relevant income. Internal financial reporting on relevant public and private sector funding agreements Developing a high quality team of staff The role is part of the Contract Management Team, which is responsible for maximising our income by working effectively across operations, finance and fundraising in a proactive manner to ensure compliance and raise awareness of our performance. This role will involve managing a Contracts Executive to fulfil our responsibilities on every funding agreement as well as developing a motivated and highly effective Contract Management team. This role is a permanent role based in Cardiff however for an interim period of time this role will also assume line management responsibility for a Contracts Executive based in London and the contract management responsibilities and requirements for funding agreements in London and South East England. The successful candidate will be an experienced individual and a motivational manager, with a background of working in public sector contract management. (S) he will have a high level of financial expertise with considerable contract management experience and skills and the ability to influence colleagues across The Trust. The successful candidate should be enthusiastic and passionate about the work of The Prince's Trust and inspired to deliver a high quality contract management service. The ideal candidate will also be flexible to allow for travel to London and other locations when required.
