Experian has recently gone through a reorganisation of our UK&I operating model which has led to changes in our team and overall business strategy. With that in mind we are looking to further expand our Service function and this has created an exciting opportunity for a Risk and Control Manager to join our team. This role will provide support to Service to strengthen the control of Experian's compliance with internal and external policies and regulations along with driving improvements in the quality of the service delivery.
The Risk and Control manager will be accountable for the delivery of the risk management framework within UK&I Service. This will include monitoring all existing operational risks, managing a team in proactively identifying areas of risk not previously identified or understood, presenting results of department reviews to key stakeholders and management groups along with driving through appropriate solutions and improvements to mitigate risk and enhance the effectiveness of the operational performance.
The Risk and Control manager will be providing day to day support across UK&I Service. Creating comprehensive reporting and Ml for senior management that provides an oversight of Incident/breach management, root cause analysis and driving forward corrective action plans to reduce the potential of future incidents.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of driving forward change and improving performance in a risk environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting the Director of Risk & Control, Service in the development and ownership of all aspects of the risk management process ensuring its effectiveness in both the monitoring of the operational position along with driving through improvements.
  • Arrange and coordinate effective reporting and meetings to support the management of operational risks.
  • Record and track key decisions and actions to ensure a full audit trial is in place.
  • Be involved in the management of the relationship between Risk and Control and the Service Leadership Team and all key stakeholders.
  • Discuss Incident and risk assessment outcomes with senior stakeholders and produce accurate and detailed management information in a timely manner.
  • Conduct confidential and/or sensitive reviews and investigations relating to employees, as required.
  • Assist multiple departs across Experian including the Global Security Office

Role Requirements
  • Proven experience in a risk environment with in the Financial services desirable
  • Experience in working within a line 1 Operational Risk function
  • A strong understanding of Financial and Operational Risk Management and assessment within a regulated environment
  • A proven track record in implementing effective risk management frameworks
  • Experience in cost management and the ability to focus on the bottom line, understanding the impact of all actions on the business
  • The ability to develop clear, efficient and logical approaches to work
  • Competent in Change Management and Change Governance
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills across all levels
  • Excellent reporting skills with a clear focus on accuracy
