Junior Product Manager

The role
A key part of this manufacturing organisation, upholding a multi liaison point amongst all departments, specifically between the Product Team and Shop floor Production.
Main responsibilities "could" include, concept to final product launch projects, budgeting, packaging, product marketing, raw materials sourcing, commissioning of new customer orders, adapting developing existing accounts all achieved within in tight schedules.
• Supporting the product management team in all aspects of innovation from gathering market insights, investigating attractive market segments, exploring our strategic search fields and developing unique, value adding solutions for our customers. Leading to direct responsibility for a product portfolio.
• Existing Product Development (EPD). Supporting the implementation of EPD plans including managing range extensions and product upgrades. Ensuring adherence to the Innovation Process.
• Packaging development. Maintain and develop product packaging ensuring compliance with all necessary standards including health & safety requirements
• Traded Goods. Maintaining, adding and removing products as necessary, monitoring sales and profitability and making necessary actions to stimulate demand
• Competitor Watch. Maintain a watch of competitor activity, communicate relevant information to the business to support strategy development and portfolio planning.
• Pricing. Responsible for monitoring product profitability and communicating action plans to the sales and marketing teams.
• Data management. Maintain and update the PIM/DAM database in support of internal stakeholders and customer information requests.
There may also be the need to travel to customer sites or other sites (1-4 days travel a month)
The successful candidate
Ideally from a recent graduate background, possessing a proactive, malleable, mature mind-set and personality. The successful candidate for this role will be developed over a three year period in order to be a product marketing professional with the ability to progress and succeed further within the business or potentially future roles not currently situated within the structure.
Skills Qualifications
• Degree qualified - ideally in a technical or business related discipline i.e. product design, construction, business studies, marketing
• Ideally have some type of marketing or account management experience
• A proactive confident mind-set and approach
