Food Service Assistant (Prison) An exciting role working for a national charity. Pact is a national charity that supports offenders, ex-offenders, and their children and families. Position: Relief Pact Lunch Worker (Tea Bar) Location: HMP Bristol Contract: Casual Hours Contract Salary: GBP8.45 per hour Closing date: 15th September 2017 Interview Date: w/c 26th September 2017 About the role: The Relief Pact Lunch Worker works on a rota basis, alongside a team of paid staff, volunteers and prisoners, to provide excellent customer service to the visiting families. Primarily working in the Visits Hall serving refreshments, you must be sensitive to the needs of visitors and be aware of delicate and complex safeguarding and security issues. Key duties and responsibilities will include: -To offer a friendly and welcoming environment to all visitors. -To sell products at the published prices, complying with Food Safety regulations and Pact's internal procedures. -To operate the till accurately, cash up following directed procedures and completing cash reconciliation documentation, making sure that errors are marked for inspection and that the control till roll is intact. -To stock fridges and shelves prior to and during service. -To keep the serving area clean and tidy, and thoroughly cleaned down at the end of the day in accordance with Food Safety legislation. -To ensure that official price lists and special offer notices are clean and clear. -To support volunteers and serving prisoners, assisting them as required. -To report discrepancies and issues to the line manager without delay. -To embrace the healthy eating and nutrition element of Pact Lunch policy, as directed by the Social Enterprise & Volunteering Team Leader. -To attend team meetings, supervisions and appraisals. -To attend relevant security training and adhere to prison guidelines and regulations at all times. About You: As Relief Pact Lunch Worker you will operate a safe and friendly, customer focused refreshment service, handling cash accurately and complying with financial and operational procedures. Your behaviour will demonstrate a thorough understanding of professional boundaries, the application of which will be essential particularly when working alongside serving prisoners. To be successful in this role you will adhere to strict legal procedures and undertake training as required to maintain the requisite level of qualification. You will ensure the delivery and continued development of consistently high quality, cost-effective and responsive services, grounded in pact's charitable mission, vision and values. The ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Disability Discrimination Act. Pact offers free information, advice and counselling service. You will undergo a thorough induction process and have the opportunity to attend training courses to further develop yourself.
