Our client is recruiting on behalf of a successful community sports centre offering a wide range of wet and dry side leisure activities with firm plans for further expansion. They are now looking for a General Manager to join their team in Portland.

As the General Manager, you’ll ensure that customers using the company’s facilities receive a world-class service. 

Leading and inspiring your team, you’ll ensure that employees remain motivated and effectively delegate tasks to maximise productivity. You’ll encourage staff to contribute their ideas and find new ways to improve day-to-day operations. 

Striving to maximise commercial opportunities, you’ll assess any risks, optimise resources and ensure that budgets are effectively managed. 

Additionally, you’ll ensure that the centre adheres to relevant legislation and promote best practice throughout the business. 

Interested? To be considered, you will need: 

- Experience of managing a leisure centre, including wet and dry side facilities 
- Previous experience of supervising, motivating and creating a high performing leisure team 
- A National Pool Management Qualification 
- A Pool Lifeguard qualification 

Customer-focused and enthusiastic, as the General Manager, you will have excellent communication and negotiation skills. A logical approach to problem-solving, a great eye for detail and a commercial mindset are also key.
