I am currently looking for a number of Quantity Surveyors to join one of the most high profile and high value major project in the UK. This is a great opportunity to join a tier 1 contractor for the forseeable future. They are ideally looking for a highly experienced and proficient Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial acumen who can join their professional team for the duration of the project.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Assist in preparing subcontract enquiries / quotation comparisons and subcontract documents.
* Assist in the commercial management of subcontractors, including processing payments once authorised by senior management.
* Assist in cost monitoring of site resources.
* Assist in the production of applications for payments in accordance with the conditions of contract.
* Assist in providing commercial advice to the site team by advising and referral to more senior personnel.
* Take part in discussions concerning performance of those elements of a project in which you are involved.
* Manage, supervise and mentor your "reports" within the commercial structure.
* Provide contact with client's representatives.
* Assistance in the production of monthly cost and value reports, quarterly reports and cashflow information.
The successful candidate will offer the following:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Preferably be from a top 10 Contractor background
* Experienced in NEC contracts
* Been involved in Projects in excess of GBP20m
* Heavy civil engineering experience
* Management of Commercial Teams
This is a contract position offering the opportunity to gain some longevity on a well renowned project in a leading civil engineering contractor.
