Operations Manager (Transport)

An excellent and exciting opportunity is available for a high calibre and experienced Operations Manager to join an established and reputable Multi award winning Haulage company based in Nelson, Lancashire. The successful Operations Manager will be working full-time and will earn a salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum.

The Company has grown organically and through acquisition, to over 40 vehicles and 60 trailers.  They stay strong by continuing to invest in new equipment and are well placed to continue into the future. They are also investing in their staff to ensure they carry on the company’s values and mission - to provide an excellent service to their customers and take pride in every job they carry out for clients.

The successful Operations Manager will be a major part of the team and lead on operational management as-well-as assisting in determining the long-term strategy for the business alongside the Operations Director. Responsibilities will also include:

• Managing the day to day business operation in a hands-on manner
• Maintaining profit margins via tight cost controls and correct selling prices
• Maintaining established high customer satisfaction levels
• Maintaining customer relationships
• Managing and motivating all staff in a positive and developmental way
• Ensuring compliance with all legal regulations
• Identifying and securing new customers and traffic from existing customers
• Recruiting suitably skilled staff

• International CPC
• Ability to develop strong working relationships
• Well-developed interpersonal skills – able to sell concepts and win

• Commercial negotiation skills
• Have managed a transport operation of 20+ vehicles
• Managed ‘O’ Licence
• Managed service delivery and customer satisfaction
• Responsible for a pallet network operation
