Assistant Site Manager for Cleaning & Waste - Warehouse Environment- Bradford

Servest are recruiting for an Assistant Site Manager to be based in large distribution centre near Bradford. You will report into the onsite Manager and manage a team of around 30 cleaning/waste operatives including supervisors.

OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager with a background warehouse cleaning and/or waste processing, who is used to managing at least 20 operatives. Your hours of work will be 5 days out of 7 from around 8am-4pm with one week on call and one week off- flexibility is needed with days and hours to fit in with the needs of the business, - the position is working 40 hours per week

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE

As the Assistant Manager day to day you will be supporting the onsite Manager. You will be assisting to make sure the areas are all staffed, meeting with the onsite clients and make sure the operation runs smoothly- including rotas, staffing levels, recruitment and HR issues, conducting regular audits and ordering equipment and supplies. You will also be responsible for the input of wages weekly. On the site you will manage the general cleaning and waste processing, this is a hands on role so part of your day may need to be spent cleaning/ training staff. We are looking for managers that can communicate effectively and regularly with staff through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure there is a free flow of ideas and that morale remains high within the team.


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

We are looking for managers with previous experience within a warehouse/ Distribution environment.

You will be used to managing a team with 20 + operatives that work across a variety of shift patterns

You will be used to meeting and ideally exceeding set SLA's and used to managing strict KPI's and audits

As a manager you will need exceptional people management skills to be able to lead, motivate and develop your teams- training will play a large part of the role

Ideally you will have a basic knowledge of employment law with some background in Employee Relations casework- this is advantageous but not a necessary requirement

You will be used to carrying out performance and quality audits, producing regular reports and be up to date with current H & S legislation and completing payroll.
