The Opportunity
MBDA wish to recruit a Finance Manager to the MBDA UK Finance team whose role will be to act as the interface between the finance and project organisations, to put in place and measure achievement against financial plans targets, to challenge, support and advise in order to ensure targets are achieved. In addition to ensure projects financial activities and reports are compliant with statutory regulations and company processes.
The Role
The Finance Manager will be responsible for a local finance team, assisting in the financial control of projects through the timely provision of project financial reporting and forecasting.
Job Holder will need to be able to influence across disciplines, geographical boundaries and at all levels within the organisation. Including:
- becoming a trusted advisor within the projects management teams whilst also maintaining a level of independence and having confidence and interpersonal skills to challenge performance
- being able to deal with the complexity of projects spread across different sectors
- managing the interfaces across the company to ensure data is well understood and provided in a timely manner
- making recommendations for decisions which are consistent with MBDA policy
- being able to represent MBDA at relevant customer forums, with external auditors and external accountancy bodies.
The role holder should posess knowledge of project accounting and a working knowledge of project management disciplines.

Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE
Detailed knowledge and experience of all aspects of project accounting essential e.g.
- Cost At Completions
- Sales and Margin Trading
- Annual Budgets and Five Year Plans
- Integrity of data on the financial systems
Detailed knowledge and experience of Finance IT tools such as: SAP R/3, SAP BW and MS Excel essential.
Ability to build strong and productive working relationships within multi discipline and multi-national project and Finance teams, whilst maintaining independence and integrity.
Ability to work proactively and autonomously essential
Experience of working in a team spread across several locations and / or countries and a willingness to travel.
