My client, a specialist in sub-contract fabrication, machining and the manufacture of bespoke turnkey solutions for various industries including Offshore, Subsea, Petrochemical, Material Handling, Construction and Sub-Contract Fabrications, has a fantastic opportunity as a Supplier Quality Development Professional.
The role will involve dealing with all Supplier Quality Development for the company, reporting into the Quality Manager.
Job Description
* Planning and realisation of supplier audits in line with central strategy and according to the VDA 6.3 and PSA rules
* Escalation and solution of issues related to the supply chain (suppliers) with target to assure the serial deliveries for final customers
* Management of new components release process (component PPAPs management)
* Cooperation on supplier evaluation process in cooperation with central PUR organisation and CoC PUR organisation
* Manage evidence of capabilities study results for SC/CC suppliers characteristic
* Manage quality supplier related internal procedures according to KB/GT rules and ISO TS (IATF) rules
* Manage keeping KB/GT KPI targets - supported with monthly reporting of fulfilment - if KPI's not fulfilled set-up the correct countermeasures
* Defines semi-product quality specifications and requirements, and qualifies and approves potential suppliers, in cooperation with purchasing department
* Defines quality planning of semi-products, and conducts inspection and approval
* Conducts workshops at suppliers
* Constantly monitors quality performance and liaises with defined suppliers to keep quality standards on a high level
* Initiates escalation process for qualification, if appropriate
* May provide advice for suppliers on design of semi-products
* Supports complaint management regarding supplier problems
* Performs regular reporting of audit, project and workshop results as well as local quality reports
* Manages concessions for suppliers for whom we have not received products within the exact specification
Skills/experience
* Must have a quality management or technical qualification or equivalent
* Must have 5 years previous experience in a similar role
* Must have knowledge of automotive industry norms such as ISO TS (IATF) rules
* Must have knowledge of the following quality standards/methods: FMEA, 8D and PPAP
* Will ideally have knowledge of audit management VDA 6.3 rules
* Must have excellent English language skills and be computer literate
Personality
* Must be willing to travel worldwide to visit suppliers for about 40% of the time (for which expenses will be paid)
* Must be able to return to site with the problem description and be confident enough to explain/ follow up the solution to that problem
* Must be an ambitious self-starter with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
* Must have an analytical approach to their daily work
* Must have excellent interpersonal and Intercultural skills to enable him/her to work all over the world
* Must be reliable and trustworthy
Salary:
GBP35,000 to GBP40,000 plus contributory private pension, depending on experience
Environment:
The company offers an excellent working environment in which you will be required to work permanent day shift minimum 39 hours per week
