Lead Mechanical Design Engineer - permanent - Farnborough - GBP45 - GBP50K + bonus
This hands-on role will be leading, motivating and directing a team of engineers to achieve on-time delivery, efficiency and quality targets to enable efficient manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Leading, motivating and directing team of engineers to manage following:
Works order processing (manufacturing drawings for production and suppliers, internal bill of materials, engineering records);.especially welding dimensioning Work Instructions for engineers. Meeting engineering on time delivery efficiency and quality targets.
Change management
Controlled documents management
Continuous Improvement projects (through active usage of "ITW tool box")
Providing input into Product development activities
Set-up and Manage Engineering KPIs to ensure transparency of performance in the difference Engineering teams.
Proactively manage Performance issues to develop a culture continuous improvement
Establish and manage a process to collaboratively support sales in specifying and selling the "right" application solutions, to boost sales.
Proactively work to create lower cost, "best in class" Engineering solutions to solve customers' core problems. Coach Engineering Team members to develop to their full potential.
Essential Requirements:
Technical education / Engineering (mechanical preferred)
Active management of works order processing team via KPIs, performance measurement and frequent evaluation
Active knowledge of manufacturing drawings requirement (dimensioning and tolerance)
Minimum 3 years of management experience in engineering area
Good communication skills - verbal, written and presentation skills
Planning, organizational, coaching and training skills
Ability to motivate and bring about the change
CAD / CAM experience
