Our client on the Marston Gate Industrial Estate, on the outskirts of Milton Keynes and Bedford, is looking for an accredited Forklift Truck Driver with a Reach Licence for their busy and fast-paced warehouse operation. Immediate start. This position will lead to permanent work for the right candidate.
The shifts available are:
Monday to Friday, 6am-2pm plus obligatory overtime when required
Monday to Friday, 2pm-10pm plus obligatory overtime when required
Monday to Friday, 11am-7pm plus obligatory overtime when required (this is very rare).
GBP8.75 per hour. 37.5 hours paid per week for the first twelve weeks, 40 hours per week thereafter.
The FLTs are diesel and do not have cameras so you must be able to safely operate them at height.
Your FLT Licence MUST be ITSSAR or RTITB accredited, be dated within the last three years and you must be prepared to get your FLT licence refreshed when necessary. You must have a minimum of 6 months recent experience driving the Reach FLT. A practical and theory FLT driving test will be conducted on-site before you can operate the FLT.
Please note that whilst you will be paid as an FLT Driver the job role does involve at least 50% manual warehouse operations.
As an FLT Driver for this warehouse your duties will include:
• FLT Reach driving
• Working in a busy warehouse and logistics environment
• Loading and unloading high-value goods
• Replenishing products for the line
• Manual handling (as dictated by the warehouse requirements)
• Keeping stock stacked in a safe and organised manner
• Completing paperwork and checking stock delivered
• Working efficiently and effectively as part of a team
• Maintaining high levels of Health and Safety
• Achieving the targets and job standards set out by the Shift Manager
• Being adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
• Performing any reasonable request by the Shift Manager
The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and attributes:
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
• Ability to drive MHE and perform manual handling safely
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work as part of a team and on your own
• Good attention to detail
Please note that this site is not accessible by bus. There is a train which runs hourly from Bedford to Bletchley. The Ridgmont station is a five-ten minute walk to/from the site. GBP4.70 return fare
