Equinix are growing and looking for a proactive and motivated Commissioning Manager who will join the EMEA Operations team and work with stakeholder across EMEA. This is a newly created role so there is real scope to make an impact and drive innovation. The Commissioning Manager is responsible for managing a core Engineering Team for Test and Commissioning (CxA) to support Expansion Projects to prove the successful operation of critical engineering infrastructure in preparation for Operational Readiness and handover to the local Operations Team. As well as evaluating and supporting existing installed critical infrastructure and systems and actively supporting the design and implementation of new installations from construction and successful handover to local operations.

Tasks and responsibilities are expected to include:

•Ensure Company SLA for reliability and performance is maintained at all times.
•Evaluating, maintaining and modifying existing installed systems to ensure continuous reliability, performance and efficiency.
•The ability to work closely with subcontractors, design-build contractor, equipment manufacturers and commissioning authority during the design, construction, testing and commissioning of all systems and subsystems for a particular project.
•Also able to work collaboratively with internal departments design engineers, construction PM and technical facilities teams, operations engineers and other internal staff on the design, specification, installation, testing and setting to work of new systems (within a live and operational environment).
•Assisting site based Engineers with troubleshooting and problem solving. Point of contact in the event of an incident escalation, in depth fault finding and Root Cause Analysis. Hands-on approach to providing support to site based engineers.
•Promote and use the company CMMS, Maximo, for the proactive maintenance of critical engineering assets.
•Understanding and ensuring compliance with safe working systems, safety regulations and quality standards of both the company and the country in which work is undertaken.
•Documenting installations, modifications to site equipment and auditing site documentation for accuracy.
•Writing of method statements and risk assessments, regression plans, switching schedules, technical reports and program plans as part of a planned work activity.
•Has the ability to undertake physical audits of critical systems within a live operational environment to prove their operation under controlled conditions for various scenarios as part of a 5 year rolling program.
•Lead and/or carry out IBX Audits by working closely with the local TFM teams, able to coordinate the close out of action items identified as a result of the audit.
•Witness and Sign-off FAT of new equipment/engineering assets and SAT/IST of Systems.
•Follow process and procedures in accordance with company policy.
•Provide training on newly installed systems and equipment to ensure all Site Operations Engineering personnel are aware, understand, and have been trained.
•Able to work methodically and systematically during the commissioning process, inspection and testing activities to ensure installed equipment and building systems meet all design and operating specifications.
•To verify all systems are handed over to the site teams in an operations/maintenance ready state including, complete documentation and drawings, necessary training carried out, all safety requirements met, equipment properly labelled, Maximo (CAMS) assets and Preventative Maintenance is setup.
•Has a clear understanding on the types of commissioning activities during the various phases of a project.
•Where applicable commission or lead the commissioning team for stand-alone equipment replacement projects as well as IBX builds and expansions.
•Has the ability and relevant knowledge to manage third party Commissioning Agents, to coordinate and perform all testing and commissioning activities on projects that are of sufficient scope and/or complexity.
•Ensure all testing complies with local Electrical, Mechanical, Building authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) and international organisations where applicable.

Qualifications & Experience:

•Technical degree or equivalent experience. Competent with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
•Experience of testing and commissioning of new systems, SAT and IST. Previous experience of handing over construction projects to the operations team.
•French, Dutch or German language fluency
•Experience of Medium Voltage and Low Voltage electrical systems
•Good working knowledge of MS Office including Visio
•Experience of Building Management Systems and SCADA
•Ability and willingness to travel to all European sites and Middle East
•Ideally experience of AutoCAD but not essential
•Relevant experience working in a critical environment
