Role Purpose

The role holder will be a HR Business Partner in a global team of five supporting Barclaycard International Technology. The role will work in partnership with senior business leaders, contributing to the development of the business agenda and delivering the associated people plan, which is likely to consist of:

    • Structural and cultural organisation change and its impact on people
    • Reward and pay review processes
    • Performance Development
    • Location Strategy
    • Resourcing
    • People capability build / Talent development
    • Employee Relations
    • HR Transformation
    • Working closely with key clients in an advisory capacity to deliver across all aspects of the HR lifecycle
    • Communicating business priorities to HR Centres of Excellence Partners (Reward/Resourcing/Learning & Talent/Employee Relations) and interfacing with them to ensure delivery of HR products and services to the business
    • Supporting the Business Partner team to ensure that Global HR strategies are delivered and objectives are met


Key Accountabilities

Business Partnering
    • Apply HR expertise and commercial understanding to partner the business leadership. Interpret the BU/Functional areas' plans, diagnose the people implications and translate that into a clear people plan
    • Provide trusted and expert advice and support on a range of HR issues such as reward, employee relations, talent, performance, organisation development/change, culture, leadership and learning and development
    • Coach and support business leaders on employee engagement and motivation
    • Drive the talent plan for the business to build sustainable people capability
    • Support the business leadership to build a high performance culture, aligned to the Group Behaviors and Values
    • Partner with HR operational and specialist colleagues to deliver a seamless HR service to the business
    • Provide advice and guidance to leaders on the effective management of change and lead the associated HR actions and plans

Support the project management of:
    • Core HR processes delivered by the HR shared service organisation
    • Organisational Design and Location Strategy
    • Performance development process
    • The annual pay round process
    • People related management information and metrics
    • People Plan for relevant areas
    • Contribution to pan-BI COO HR People Plan
    • Central reporting for all HR MI reports including some ad-hoc reporting
    • Support internal and external resourcing to attract and retain talent in the right place with the right skills, including direct involvement in critical hires as required


Person Specification
    • Bachelors Degree / Equivalent Experience
    • Previous HR Business Partner & Project Management Experience, preferably within Financial Services or a global customer-focused organisation
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to incorporate metrics and analysis into HR delivery
    • Outstanding verbal and communication skills, with poise and confidence to interact with all levels of management
    • Ability to manage high volumes of work, execute flawlessly, and understand HR processes
    • The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter, confident, and able to navigate through change
    • They will be a strong team player, commercial, and client-centric
    • Strong personal credibility with the ability to build trusted relationships with senior managers in order to influence
    • Change and project management experience
    • Good understanding of all aspects of HR from an operational and transformational perspective
    • Experience in managing Change from an HR perspective
    • Commercially astute
    • Strong analytical ability, numerate
    • Effective relationship builder with good influencing skills, across a range of diverse stakeholders
    • Self-confident, with high integrity, willing to challenge appropriately
    • Resilient, able to deal with organisational complexity and operate at pace
    • Sound judgment, able to read situations and apply discretion and clear thought to resolve them
