Project Manager - PPMC

We have established a Programme and Project Management Centre (PPMC) of Excellence, based in Nottingham, with a strong continuous professional development agenda provided through the PPMC Academy, aligned to the Association of Project Management (APM); ongoing professional training and development is a key theme.
Prince 2 is the core skillset, projects and programmes cover a broad range including software development and build, development and improvement of financial software products (credit and risk), software deployments to major clients, internal transformation, change and security projects and programmes. The PPMC consists of:
• The PMO - providing Project Governance and Assurance through application of our project delivery standards.
• Two distinct and strong cohorts of project managers, covering client delivery and software build and transformation, in a grade structure; Project Lead, PM, Senior PM and Principle PM, based in Nottingham, Bradford and Southport.
The PPMC has responsibility for delivery, the current agenda includes:
• Expanding the reach of project management, end to end
• Getting closer to the client
• Industry leading Governance and Assurance.
We are seeking professional and experienced project managers to be based in our Nottingham Offices, at the level of Senior and Principle PM. We are especially keen on career minded PMs, with a keen focus on their own CPD, professional Project Management high quality delivery and demonstrable Governance and Assurance. Key competences are an ability to;
• Quickly build and sustain trust and high credibility as the Project Manager
• Apply and sustain demonstrable and highly visible project Governance
• Production and maintenance of key project artefacts: PID, RAID, Financial Tracking, Project Planning (MS Project)
• Design, describe and lead the most appropriate delivery methodology
• Engagement with senior stakeholders
• Take ownership of and drive through the delivery of complex and high value projects.
• Networking and, coaching and mentoring of project management / PMO colleagues
Essential
• Demonstrable experience of client facing project experience and or/ demonstrable experience managing software development/delivery projects
• Hold a professional project management qualifications: Prince 2/ PMI/ APMP etc.
• Proficient in MS Project, Word, PowerPoint
• Use of recognised standard project Management tools and methodologies (Agile, PMO, V Model etc.)
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
• Demonstrable track record of delivering results on projects - within timeline and budget
• Strong project management experience, able to manage & drive large scale projects
• Experience of liaising with multiple stakeholders in a variety of business areas.
• Challenging and Innovative - must have the ability to challenge themselves to continuously improve, adding value to the organisation.
• Ability to build strong relationships across a matrix structure
• You will be highly driven and motivated whilst being comfortable negotiating with internal/external stakeholders
• Demonstrable experience working within both waterfall and agile environments
Desirable
• Experience of SDLC
• Agile delivery experience
• Experience of successfully delivery of financial services related projects
