The Company
We touch millions of people's lives - but most of them never realise it.
Engineer (Mechanical Testing)
You may not have heard of us but each time you catch a flight, fill up your car - or perform other everyday tasks - you rely on materials, products or systems that Exova has tested, certified or advised upon.
That's one reason working with Exova is exciting. You'll have the opportunity to play a part in making things safer, more efficient - or just better. You'll help customers find new ways of doing things or test materials that might be years away from the market. While you do it, you'll be working with the best. Our technical teams are world-renowned, so there'll never be a day when you don't learn something new.
Exova Daventry is a centre of excellence for fracture mechanics, fatigue and structural testing. In a market where asset integrity is a fundamental principle, Exova has a proven track record of supporting businesses at the forefront of global oil and gas exploration, production and distribution.
The Role
Our Engineer will play a key role in servicing some of the largest and most successful oil & gas and engineering clients in the world by delivering world-leading technical expertise. Engineer (Mechanical Testing) Main responsibilities of the role include:
* Responsibility for technical input and review of client proposals

* Review of technical procedures and where required, write project-specific test procedures
* Maintain, develop and improve project process within the laboratory as required
* Work closely with colleagues in Technical, Quality and Operational teams
* Provide clear work instructions to Technician colleagues
* Provide technical leadership of the team, with support from other colleagues
* Write concise, accurate and high quality technical reports relating to projects
* Liaise effectively with clients regarding technical and project managements and general queries
* Perform review and audit activities on projects - from review stage through to project close
What are we looking for?
* A formal qualification in a relevant engineering/scientific discipline
* Proven track record working within a relevant technical environment - ideally mechanical testing
* Familiarity with national and international testing standards
* Knowledge of testing - preferably fracture mechanics/fatigue testing/structural testing

*Excellent attention to detail
*Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage clients and colleagues
*Adaptable and flexible in approach
Exova is an equal opportunities employer
