Web Developer - PHP - Mid/Senior Level

This is an opportunity to join a small web development agency based in Macclesfield - a 20 minute train journey from Manchester. They specialise in building bespoke business systems for their clients based on their specific needs and requirements. Their aim is to help their businesses run more efficiently with less time wasted on manual, repetitive tasks. As their focus is solely on the back end and development side of things, their clients can be sure they are getting a high quality product that fits their needs, where commercial, off the shelf software may not be able to.

They are looking for an enthusiastic mid to senior level PHP Web Developer to join their small team in Macclesfield.

The ideal candidate would have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar, and have at least a year's commercial/agency experience. You would need to be passionate about web development and excited to continue learning and developing your own skills.

The selected candidate would be involved with taking client projects from the initial brief/proposal stage, right through to completion so excellent communication skills are a must-have.

They would also be looking for someone with some previous experience of workflow management, who would be comfortable supervising junior members of the development team and encouraging them to progress within their own roles.

Please note - this is role is currently a remote-working position, but Candidates based in or around the Macclesfield/Manchester area would be preferred.

Requirements:

- Experience with PHP, MySQL and the Laravel Framework - this is important as its the primary basis for the majority of our projects
- Experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript - also pretty important
- Have used other programming languages such as Java, C#
- 3+ years of experience of web development or similar
- Passionate and excited about web development and new technology in general
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Project management experience
- Must be confident in working on a lot of different tasks simultaneously
- Experience of working within an agency or similar environment
