Job Title: Payroll Administrator
Reporting To: Payroll Manager
Responsible For: No Direct Reports
Location: Kettering
Salary: £19k - £22k (Pro-Rata)
Hours: Negotiable
Job: Part-Time

Skill set required for Payroll Assistant
*At least 2 years' experience of processing monthly payroll - essential
*Knowledge of processing Director payroll - desirable
*Experience in processing payroll from start to finish - desirable
*Effective communicator at all levels
*Attention to detail - essential
*Knowledge of statutory deductions & manual calculations - essential
*Knowledge of working on an in-house system - desirable
*Knowledge of Year End processing - essential
*IT skills essential
*Hours negotiable - Circa 20 hours per week, increased hours during busy times, tax year end.
Duties to include
*Process all staff changes including starters, transfers, leavers and other amendments to salaries and employee data in compliance with policy and payroll requirements
*Input & processing of all monthly overtime returns & bonus payments
*Recording of maternity, paternity and adoption payments both statutory and occupational
*The input, calculation and recording of occupational & statutory sickness payments
*The processing of relevant HMRC documents including P45, new starter declarations, tax code advice etc.
*Processing RTI submissions
*Calculation & processing of payrolled benefits in kind
*Calculation & processing of pension changes for upload onto pension website
*Advise employees and managers of payroll issues as first point of contact for enquiries
*Appropriate knowledge and understanding of the in-house Payroll system
*Ad hoc payroll reporting for Managers & Directors
The Person Specification
To be successful in this role of Payroll Administrator you will have proven experience in a payroll environment. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to co-ordinate workloads and work under pressure. You must have excellent IT skills and be accurate when entering data.

It is imperative that the person has payroll processing skills, as the time taken to train them outweighs the time spent in training them on the Payroll system.
