We are in the process of creating a privately owned small hotel, or guesthouse, in the Cotswolds, and are looking for a driven, energetic, creative, personable and ambitious couple who are looking to develop a business that in effect, would be their own.
This is one of those opportunities that only crops up very rarely; a chance to develop something special with the added attraction of being left pretty much in control of the business and the running of the property.
Knowledge of the area will be preferable.
The make up of the team will be one as a great cook, whilst the other will run the front of house. Both will be seen as the hosts and "owners". Administration, room bookings, overseeing the upkeep of the house and gardens will be a joint responsibility.
The chef needs to have a proven track record, as we expect great things on the food front. Starting as an upmarket but relaxed guesthouse, we will develop the food offering to include pre-dinner bites, a dinner offering, and a constant snack offering throughout the day.
Exclusive use parties will be marketed and catered for.
Between the two, you will need to have the experience to run a business, both in terms of hands-on operations as well as staffing, cost control, PR, sales & marketing and reporting.
Ideal applicants will probably have experience in the public house, restaurant or small hotel sector, have a proven track record of budget management together with the ability to recruit, train and manage staff. Reporting directly to the owners and their advisers, the couple will however be given enough autonomy to shape the business accordingly.
