Principal Consultant
Field Based - Birmingham

This is a role for a Principal Consultant, who will take responsibility for the success of assigned projects by owning the technical design and ensuring effective delivery by managing and directing the delivery team and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. The role will suit someone with an interest and passion for software design and a desire to keep up to date with the latest technologies.

Key areas of responsibility will involve:

-Responsibility for delivering projects to meet development standards and customer requirements
-Acting as Technical Lead analysing client requirements, including designing system architecture, designing and documenting solutions and working with the Project Manager and Testing Lead to provide estimates for projects.
-Leading, coaching and developing direct reports through the use of good people practices (such as Personal Development Plans, 1-2-1s, appropriate training, mentoring and communications)
-Following specifications, writing source code and configuring software in order to develop solutions in line with project documentation.
-Collaborating with internal and external teams to shape customer engagements in line with the project process and ensure seamless delivery.
-Building relationships with stakeholders within customer organisations in order to gain their assistance and win their confidence in development projects

Essential skills required:

-Advanced technical skills and experience including :
oMicrosoft SQL Server BI Platform
oAzure Data & Analytics platform
oData warehousing strategies and methodologies
-Managing source code
-People Management experience in the context of software development projects
-Agile Development Methodologies (SCRUM)

Desirable skills:
-Agile and flexible in approach with a keen eye for detail.
-Relevant Microsoft Data & Analytics Certification

This role requires a significant amount of travel and can occasionally require you to work on customer sites with overnight stays and travel.
