Main function of job

Responsible for working closely with Fee Earners, Partners and other billing stakeholders within the Insurance Team ensuring all matter management and work in progress on client matters is reviewed, billed and completed effectively by the Insurance Billing Team.

Relationships

a. Responsible to: Revenue Control and Billing Manager

b. Liaison with: Contact and liaison with employees at all levels within DWF

Main Duties

  1. Oversee the day-to-day and monthly billing activities as well as actively participating in the long-term objectives of the department
  2. Co-ordinate the billing workflow, managing a team of billing analysts to ensure that the bills are processed in a timely and accurate manner for all Practice Groups
  3. Managing the outstanding pro-forma list to ensure that all are current and billable
  4. Ensure that any non-compliance issues are escalated to the Revenue Control Manager
  5. Monitor work in progress by ensuring the team carry out and complete monthly WIP reviews
  6. Identify areas of improvement and work closely with the Revenue Control Manager on Billing improvement projects
  7. Motivate and drive the team to deliver against operational targets, business requirements and SLA's
  8. Ensure training requirements of the team are assessed, documented and implemented. Hold regular team meeting and 121 sessions, track performance against agreed targets and objectives
  9. To assist in any organisational change processes, when required, champion change and have the ability to identify system and process improvements
  10. Responsibility of write off requests in line with the firm's policies and authorisation levels
  11. Dealing with all billing and ledger queries, including creating credit notes where needed
  12. Work collaboratively with other teams across Finance and the Firm general wide
  13. Ensuring at all times that general administration duties are kept up to date and in line with the operational standards e.g. filing/ archiving etc.
  14. Undertaking any others duties that are deemed necessary to support the Compliance team and the DWF business as and when required
  15. Following all the Firm's policies and procedures
  16. Ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times


Experience Required

  • Proactive & organised self-starter with positive can do attitude
  • A proven track record of leadership in a busy, fast paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
  • Experience driving business solutions through influence and collaboration
  • Attention to detail and deliver high quality work
  • Ability to implement strategic initiatives across billing teams
  • Change orientation approach to role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer focused approach
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
