Job Title: Estimator / Design Engineer
Salary/ Rate: GBP30K
Location: West Midlands
The role:
A large UK Designer and Manufacturer of galvanized steel purlins are seeking a Design Engineer/Estimator to join their estimating and design team.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate would have between 2 to 5 years' experience working with BS5950 and BS6399 (knowledge of Eurocodes, especially 1 & 3 would be an advantage) in an estimating / design office environment
Be able to produce quantities from drawings for quotations
Have commercial awareness
Be familiar with AutoCAD
Have the ability to form good working relationships with customers
Be well organized, self-motivated, professional and able to work under pressure
Be responsible for achieving objectives on own initiative, as well as part of a team
Be computer literate and able to communicate estimates and design
Have attention to detail and accuracy
Must be eligible to work in the UK
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management of projects through design and sales office
2. Design / estimate of cold rolled steel with the use of in-house software
3. Clearly communicate quotations / designs to customers
4. Provide support and advice to the team of Area Sales Managers
