We are delighted to be partnering with this national employer of choice who is now looking to urgently appoint a Payroll Specialist on a permanent or temporary to permanent basis for their fantastic modern Head Office based in Central Slough.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Working to strict deadlines to ensure employees (circa. 1,000) are paid correctly and promptly
- Communicate to all levels across all business functions and departments.
- End to end monthly payroll processing
- Ensure all paperwork that is received by payroll has been properly authorised.
- Setting up the new Starters and Leavers on the payroll system including any changes.
- Tax, NI, Student loan and P45 input onto payroll.
- Processing of Quarterly, Monthly Bonus, Overtime commission and Holiday commission.
- Calculate, Monthly SSP and Company sick pay payment.
- SMP/SPP processing.
- Must be able to process a manual calculation when required.
- Processing adhoc reports form payroll system when required.
- Answering pay queries via phone, email, and face to face.
- Completing and replying to all relevant correspondence as and when required
ABOUT YOU:
- Ideally have at least 2-3 years of payroll experience within a fast paced larger company environment.
- Capable and prepared to process a high volume of manual inputting on to various software systems.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified (CIPP and other formal payroll qualifications), or relevant experience.
- Experience using current payroll systems i.e. Sage or Snowdrop is highly advantageous
- Excellent IT Skills, including Microsoft office suite.
- Excellent telephone manner and verbal and written communication.
- Strong numerical skills and able to fulfil manual calculations.
- Self-starter, able to both take direction and work with own initiative.
- Good communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Polite and calm manner.
- Able to work in a demanding environment with high expectations and tight deadlines
- Happy to support the wider People Team with daily tasks which are not necessarily Payroll based.
