Senior/Traffic Signal Design Engineer
My clients Wakefield office was established over 30 years ago and has a long established reputation in providing traffic signal solutions for both developers and local Authorities whether a single junction or a complex network is being implemented or enhanced. The office is located just a stroll from the City Centre and within a 10 minute walk of both Westgate and Kirkgate Rail Stations.
The team is involved from scheme inception and design through to acceptance testing and commissioning on site. The current workload includes the Blackpool Tramway extension, Birmingham tramway extensions, schemes for local Authorities across Northern Eng/and. We also support other PFoffices with our specialist services.
Main Purpose of the Job
An exciting opportunity for someone with experience of working with local authorities and traffic signal subcontractors. The team is involved from scheme Inception and design through to acceptance testing and commissioning on site. The current workload includes the Blackpool Tramway extension, Birmingham tramway extensions, schemes for Local Authorities across Northern England. We also support other PF offices with our specialist services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The role entails AutoCAD layout design, TR2500 specification writing, MOVA design, SCOOT & UTCdatabase experience and project management.
Technical lead and mentoring of less experienced staff.
Excellent understanding of junction and network analysis software and report writing skills.
Must maintain good understanding of all relevant standards, H&S Legislation and current relevant design methods.
Qualifications:
HNC plus Minimum
Experience:
Previous experience in traffic signal design
The candidate must have experience of a variety of traffic signal projects including lInslg / Transyt modelling, junction, crossing and network analysis and design.
Experience of lInslg / Transyt is desirable.
Experienced In modelling and design utilising L1NSIG/TRANSYT software specification (TR2500) writing and the Implementation of SCOOT UTC/MOVA installations including acceptance testing, commissioning and validation

Expertise In the use of AutoCAD is essential,
