Willis Towers Watson's insurance consulting business works with major insurers around the world on issues that range from economic capital and regulatory change to the intricacies of hedging and other forms of asset-liability management. Applying deep analytical skills, we help insurers:

The Role

We are searching for a Data Scientist with a passion for delivering innovative analytical solutions

You will deliver high quality work for our broad set of UK clients, working on projects including behavioural modelling, price optimisation, financial risk modelling and big data analytics.

You will join a team that works with a huge variety of leading financial institutions across the world, including almost all of the top UK insurers as well as intermediaries, data and software houses and other financial and non-financial organisations.

You will have immediate exposure to real client assignments which will draw on your imagination and creativity as well as your ability to analyse data, draw insight and present results. These experiences will help build on your technical knowledge as well as deliver high profile projects to household name clients.

Job Requirements The Requirements

Essential
  • Minimum of MSc in a Quantitative subject (PhD Preferred), particularly focussed toward data science or machine learning analytics
  • Strong experience of R and Python coding
  • UK motor insurance analytics background an advantage but not essential
  • A passion for coding, data and analytics
  • An interest and aptitude for developing new ideas and techniques
  • Have 'credibility' with both clients and internally
  • Work collaboratively with fellow associates both in the UK and more widely in EMEA
  • Demonstrate commitment to clients
  • Show commitment to exceptional delivery
  • Ability to write client deliverables / reports in a clear, concise and appropriate way
  • Proactive, energetic, and can demonstrate being a "safe pair of hands"

Desirable
  • Experience of pricing for the UK personal lines insurance aggregator distribution channel, claims systems/processes, data enrichment, data hubs and IHP
