A leading environmental services firm is looking for a Senior Ecologist to join their team in East Sussex on a permanent basis. Our client specialises in providing sustainable water and energy developments, and has a brilliant track-record with delivering highly successful projects. Due to an expanding workload, they are seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join their skilled team.

The role of the selected Senior Ecologist will have a number of responsibilities to ensure the successful delivery of major developments, including:

* Producing environmental and planning related reports, including EIA's for significant infrastructure projects
* Offering advice to clients and team members
* Developing client relationships
* Carrying out field surveys
* Managing projects to budgets and deadlines
* Being responsible for ecological subcontractors
* Approving work scopes
* Providing technical reviews
* Ensuring project quality
* Mentoring and providing assistance to less experienced team members

In order to carry-out given responsibilities effectively, it is essential for applicants to have the following skills, experience and attributes:

* Knowledge of the aquatic environment (River Habitat Surveys, River Corridor Surveys)
* Relevant degree qualification
* Full current UK driving licence
* Association or full members of CIEEM
* Chartered Environmentalist (Chartered Ecologist or similar)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience managing less experienced staff
* Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
