Argent Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader Relief to join the team based in Stanlow, Cheshire.  You will be on a full time permanent basis and receive a competitive salary.

Argent Energy is the UK's leading waste-to-energy biodiesel producer with operations in Scotland and North West England. Our main plant, near Motherwell in Scotland, started production in 2005. Following significant investment to facilitate growth and development, a number of other facilities have been built in the Stanlow area which will increase our production capacity to 145 million litres per year.

As our Team Leader Relief you will be responsible for the process operators within the biodiesel plant, delivering and ensuring maximum plant and Health, Safety and Environmental performance to agreed targets and KPI’s.

Key responsibilities of our Team Leader Relief

- Leading the team to ensure optimum day to day operational performance to required standards.

- On call at night and weekends depending on rota/shift pattern.

- Fill in for senior operators as required

- Provide practical and hands on assistance to Senior Operator and Operators as required to ensure tasks are carried out to the required standard for both safety and productivity

- Facilitate real-time management of the manufacturing process, ensuring optimal use of equipment, personnel and materials

- Liaise with the Production Manager and Plant Manager to review performance of operators throughout the shift using the PCS and shift walk around.

- Monitor plant performance and communicate progress against targets to shift personnel. 

- Actively manage the team to ensure KPI’s and plant performance targets are met or exceeded

- Ensure all equipment is kept in good condition and stored correctly

- Ensure all maintenance issues are raised by the team through Idhammer system and actioned accordingly

- Ensure all preventative Maintenance is carried out on plant equipment according to the predefined schedule

- Oversee the work of the Senior Operators and Operators, offering advice, direction and guidance to those on shift

- Set the standards for team performance ensuring all sampling and testing is done to schedule, as a minimum, and additional testing as required

- Ensure departmental housekeeping is of a high standard.

- Ensure all work undertaken is done so in accordance with company policy and in a safe manner.

- Make clear and prompt decisions considering all risks to process and people.

- Takes initiative and act with confidence under own direction.

- Build strong and positive working relationships with the other Team Leaders.

- Ensure a detailed and precise shift handover to oncoming teams.

- Provide leadership and clear direction to shift teams at all times.

- Actively promote a team-working environment and always lead by example.

Skills needed to become our Team Leader Relief

- Degree in Engineering or Science discipline would be advantageous

- Relevant H&S qualification i.e NEBOSH, managing safely

- Previous experience working in a process plant is essential; with a FMCG, Process, Chemical background

- Previous supervisory experience is required; knowledge of shift working/operation would be desirable

- Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and compliance, i.e. IPCC, EA, HSE

- Project management / Best Practice experience; continuous Improvement mentality

- Candidate must be able to work under pressure, solution driven, pragmatic, with the ability to command respect, motivate a team, and actively promote a team-working environment
