Vision On Design is a dynamic, entrepreneurial Design & Display Solutions Business, which provides its household name clients with a unique, end to end service. Products range from building wraps and illuminated signage, to retail displays and props.
This role has 2 key areas of focus: the majority of your time will be spent working within our Production Team, primarily on the assembly of light boxes. This will involve the affixing of suitable LEDS and transformers for example, and also the final QC of lightboxes and any other electrical manufactured products. You will get involved in the testing of new designs for performance, durability and aesthetics and will act as a technical resource for electrical queries. Any experience you have of working with UL and CE ratings will be useful (but is not essential).
You will also be our in-house electrician, undertaking all electrical installation and maintenance of electrical power supplies, ensuring that all electrical works are to IEE and British Standards. This will include effectively planning and conducting portable appliance testing, 5 year electrical testing, as well as small projects.
Health and safety conscious, you will be a well organised, self-motivated and proactive individual that takes pride in their work. You will need to be computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Email and Excel. You will have experience of electrical installation and maintenance of electrical power supplies within an industrial environment, and will have good understanding of the Low Voltage Directive. Experience gained using LEDS e.g. within signage, would be particularly beneficial.
Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be suitably qualified in the following:
City & Guilds 2382 -17th edition wiring regulations or current equivalent.
City & Guilds 2330, 2360 or 2365 Electrical Installation or current equivalent.
City & Guilds 2394 / 2935 - Test and Inspection (commercial) or current equivalent.
You will need to be comfortable with occasional travel e.g. to exhibitions or client sites and as such a current driving license is required.
You will be based at our production and head office facility which is located just off junction 40 of the M1. Your normal work days will be Mon-Fri (37.5 hours) and your start / finish time will normally be between 8am and 6pm, but flexibility will be required and occasional weekend working may be necessary. Salary: £29k.
If you feel that you are well matched to this role then we’d love to hear from you. Please supply an up to date CV by return.
