Title: Production Manager
Salary: £32000- £38000 P/A depending on experience

The Production Manager will represent a key role within MG’s existing Production and Operations team, The Production Manager is responsible for providing oversight and direction within the production facility, other important duties include managing day-to-day customer interactions and providing support to other members of the team. This role is focused on driving forward the performance of the business, through the optimization of existing systems and employees as well as identifying any areas for development and improvement.

What we`re looking for

Production / Works

• Setting direction on daily, weekly and monthly production
• Measuring Capacity
• Collecting, measuring and optimising key performance within production and deliveries 
• Developing targets for the production facility in collaboration with the workshop manager
• Continually looking to optimize the lay-out and throughput of the production facility in order to improve performance
• Providing oversight and guidance for the works manager and logistics manager
• Ensuring on-time customer delivery ability to step-in and augment production when needed 
• Oversight of health and safety 
• Works manager will report to production manager and assist/implement production/works matters

Customer based
• Coordinating with customers on pick-up, deliveries and production scheduling
• Ensuring that we are delivering excellent customer service and customer experience
• Identifying and uncovering opportunities to expand its customer relationships
• Capturing and sharing customer data across the organization
• Encouraging customer visit and reviews as required 
• expediter will report to and assist production manager with customer based duties

Support in other areas
• Collaborating with the Sales department and Directors on new business opportunities
• Coordinating with the directors on key figures and key performance metrics
• Taking an active role in cross-functional teams to deliver management information and insights to enhance future performance
• Reporting to directors

What experience we are looking for
• A minimum 2 years of production or operations management experience in a continually progressing role
• Experience within a busy manufacturing / engineering facility
• A high level of computer literacy 
• Highly organised and methodical approach in all aspects of delivering this role 
• Fabrication experience considered an asset 
• Lean manufacturing experience
