This Managed IT Specialist has a great new opportunity for someone who has experience in IT Project Management to join their Project Management Office team. This position is suitable for an individual who either has been part of a project team in an IT environment, or currently has technical experience (e.g. implementation engineer) and would like to move in to a new role.

You will be responsible for managing the implementation process of a wide variety of IT projects, from basic requests such as the provision of simple inter-site WAN connectivity, through to major hardware and software refreshes and rolling out 100+ users in outsourcing their IT services.

Responsibilities:

- Experience of managing and implementing IT projects, for example:
o Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems
o Microsoft Exchange
o Remote Access technologies (Terminal Services, Citrix XenApp)
o Internet connectivity (ADSL, Ethernet)
o Local area networking (managed switches, VLANs)
- A background or experience in a customer-facing role, with an understanding of the benefits of providing excellent customer service
- The ability to translate the technical specification of a project into a documented scope that the customer can understand
- A technical background would be beneficial, although not essential (e.g. Service Desk, IT Engineer).

Key skills/requirements:

You will be based in their Bournemouth office and will become a valued part of the PMO team. You are responsible for the delivery of projects from approval through to handover to the service desk. This will involve many steps along the way including:

- Following an effective methodology and process for the management of projects within the business. They don't expect you to be PRINCE2 qualified, but an understanding of project management methods is highly beneficial.
- Communicating regularly and providing effective updates with customers
- Defining realistic timescales for completion of projects
- Understanding the technical requirements of a project
- Identifying the technical risks, issues and dependencies of a project.
- Managing exceptions to projects that may affect delivery
- Regularly reviewing outstanding project tasks with engineers
- Regularly providing status updates with account managers and key stakeholders
- Reviewing projects post deployment to identify issues to be avoided in the future and potential savings that could be made

Salary: £30,000-£40,000 dependent on experience.
