The UK's leading and best-known food on the go retailer are currently looking to recruit a QA Technician at their Gosforth Park Bakery in Newcastle. This is a full-time role, 5 over 7 covering dayshift, backshift and nightshift.

The Role
Reporting to the QA Manager you would be tasked with ensuring that process controls are in place, and are operating as specified to ensure that food safety and quality standards are met each day at the time the product is being produced. You would assist with the implementation of food safety and quality procedures for day to day factory floor operations, providing technical support such as in the calibration of small items of equipment (e.g. weight scales or temperature probes) and monitoring the effectiveness of controls; by assisting with the completion of some of the routine audits (e.g. Hygiene and Housekeeping, Critical Control Points and Product Process) as well as internal system audits.

The role requires a strong cross functional relationship to be built and the ability to produce management reports and communicate key issues effectively on a regular basis to all levels of staff.

The Candidate
It's absolutely essential that you have experience in a similar Quality Assurance role, ideally within food manufacturing / retail. You'll be a highly organised, numerate and results-focused, with excellent communication, planning and IT skills, and you will possess practical knowledge, or had experience of the BRC Standard and Quality Management Systems within food manufacturing. You will also need to possess HACCP or CIEH level 3.
