UKI Express has an opportunity for an experienced Freight Forwarder to join the team in our new purpose built office facility in the heart of Skelmersdale. The successful candidate will receive a salary of £18,000-£25,000 per annum including bonus plus great benefits including competitive holiday allowance, company pension, long term career with a stable market leader, canteen and on site parking. This position has variable shifts of; 07:00am-3:00pm / 9:00am-5:00pm / 10:00am-6:00pm.

UKI Express are a well-established freight forwarding and logistics business with over 100,000 sq. ft. of modern warehousing facility, who currently transport over 1500 separate consignments a day, throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. We are looking for self-motivated transport coordinators to join our professional team of staff.

As our Freight Forwarder you will be responsible for maintaining and developing specific customer accounts in order to ensure a smooth and efficient service to our customers 24/7.  To achieve this, you must develop a strong relationship with key individuals for each of these customer accounts. You must also work closely with other teams, as appropriate within UKI Services, to ensure the customer’s expectations are fully met or even exceeded.

Our ideal Freight Forwarder will have the below skills and experience:

- A logistics background ideally within express freight

- Experience managing customer expectations and developing sales

- Strong Leadership and Communication skills

- Previous experience of working towards KPI’s and recording information accurately and to tight deadlines

- Excellent influencing skills and the ability to manage customer expectations

- Monthly Profit and Loss

- Financial awareness

- Excellent planning skills

- Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative

- Proven track record of pro-active sales generation

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems

- Ability to work to a structured price guide

- Negotiation skills
