Business Development Manager

Salary: Up to GBP48,000 (+ benefits package)

Location: Bath

My client, a dynamic SME near Bath, is looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to play a critical role in shaping their business going forward.

The company specialise in software and App development and produce bespoke solutions to help clients achieve their goals. With strong roots in education and charity, and a proven track record in working with big brands, the company have reached a pivotal stage and are looking for an individual who can capitalise on the next level of business opportunities.

The company is subsequently looking for a passionate Business Development Manager, who can engage with customers to understand their challenges and needs. The candidate will be required to oversee new business from the initial conversation, through to project management and final delivery. A strong interest in technology and innovation is a must, and the company are particularly keen to focus their skills on interesting projects that can make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect for new business relationships and assess the potential for a future business partnership.
  • Work with identified dealerships who seek to grow their business, agreeing any new incentives and managing this through to conclusion including re-check.
  • Attend industry trade shows to develop network and increase company exposure.
  • Provide support and assistance to colleagues where required in order to maximise the ability to achieve growth.
  • Offer consultation and advice to business partners when required.
  • Regularly conduct business reviews with dealers and agree action plans befitting mutual customers and the individual businesses.
  • Assume overall responsibility of key dealership accounts, with the focus being on quality control, good working business practices and the outcomes for customers.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Business Development Manager role.
  • Interest in technology and innovation.
  • Ability to build strong business relationships with a variety of different personality types.
  • Be a focussed and organised self-starter and able to manage own time and multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to deal with conflict positively and objectively and not afraid to make critical decisions.
  • Be a confident and highly motivated individual.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and influencing skills.
  • Data analysis and interpretation in order to understand root cause issues.
  • Have good computer literacy.
