Due to continued success and growth, we are now looking to recruit a Yard Operative to join our team in Crawley, working 50 hours a week.

What will I be responsible for?

Joining our team as a Yard Operative, you will coordinate the day to day transport movements within the transfer station operation in order to meet Company and legal requirements and to maximise safety and efficiency. Duties include:

• Maintain the Transfer Station and surrounding area in a clean and safe condition by regular sweeping and litter picking.
• Control traffic entering and exiting the Transfer Station by radio communication with machine operators.
• Monitor the quality of incoming co-mingled recyclables from the District Council.
• Work closely with machine operators and other reversing assistant to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

The ideal Yard Operative will have:

• General knowledge of the Waste Industry and related operations
• Banksman Certificate
• Ability to communicate to all levels

In return for your hard work as a Yard Operative, we can offer a salary of £19,000 - £21,000 per annum plus excellent benefits, pension scheme and plenty of opportunity for personal development working within in a team-orientated and collaborative environment, for a company that strives to be environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.
